Founders’ Hall is a non-profit organization and designated charitable
organization formed in September 2000 and opened to the public on
June 29, 2001 with the mandate:
- To document, preserve and maintain the social and political history
of Canada from the meetings of the Fathers of Confederation in Charlottetown
in 1864 through to present-day Canada in 2000 following the path of
Confederation;
- To instruct, educate and entertain the general public on Canadian
History with the use of multi-sensory learning, including interactive
technology, holo-visuals, realistic set displays, state-of-the-art
headset interpretation, theatre presentations and various special
events and activities on-site;
- To encourage Canadians and visitors to Canada of all ages to become actively engaged in history
- To honour and remember the Canadian Fathers of Confederation and their vision for our nation;
- To showcase Canada’s achievements – past, present, and future – as time goes on;
- To provide educators across Canada with the resource materials to engage, excite, and increase retention by their students about Canadian history.
